I’m still learning and growing in the ocean and I still have moments where I feel like I’m just beginning. So many failed pop-ups, often times landing on my knees. I’ve learned to love every aspect of riding a wave, even on my knees, cruising down the face of the wave, hands in the air, not a care in the world. It’s also much easier to feel the side of the wave.
My husband, Marshall, always says this is what makes me free. He says I’m not attached to a certain idea of what surfing should be and I am free because all I care about is having fun and feeling the glide in any way.
